From concept to game asset
Start with an image, shape its pixel size, palette and detail in PIXCHA, then export a PNG. Bring the file into your project and test how it reads in context. PIXCHA is a browser-based art tool; it does not connect directly to an engine or import a project.
Concept or image → PIXCHA → pixel-style PNG → import into your project → test in your game
Useful during a game jam or prototype
When you need to explore a look quickly, PIXCHA can help you prepare placeholder visuals and compare variations before investing in final production art. Use it to test an idea’s scale, silhouette or palette while the game is taking shape.
- Character and enemy concepts
- Items, icons and interface experiments
- Environment and scene concepts
- Generated or rough artwork adapted for a prototype
Use exported PNGs with Godot or Unity
Download a PNG from PIXCHA and import it through the normal asset workflow in Godot, Unity or another game engine. PIXCHA is not affiliated with or endorsed by Godot or Unity, and does not provide direct engine integration.
Check the exported image in your own project. Import settings, filtering and scaling are controlled by your game engine, so adjust them there to suit the intended pixel-art presentation.
Made for experimentation
PIXCHA turns images into a pixel-style treatment that can help communicate and test ideas. The output is a starting point for prototypes and visual exploration, not a claim of automatically handcrafted or production-ready pixel art.
